Tennis Task Force Reports (two reports)

Gentle Readers:

Residents expecting to hear a presentation by the PLCA Board appointed Tennis Task Force were disappointed when there was no presentation during the April Board meeting.  The Task Force Chairperson (who is also a PLCA Board member) and the board gave this important subject a total of (3)   2 minutes 57 seconds.  To be fair, they said they would post the Task Force’s report on the website to allow residents to view it — which they have.  Following is the audio clip of the very limited discussion during the April 19 board meeting:

You are encouraged to read the board appointed Task Force’s report (below)  and also the report developed by a group of 12-15 knowledgeable residents (with tennis facilities/management/finance backgrounds) – they called themselves the Tennis Study Group.

While this may be somewhat confusing, Gentle Reader, please take the time to notice the difference in the two reports with regard to the substantive research and the recommendations provided by the Tennis Study Group. Please note, the Study Group made a formal presentation and provided hard copies of their report to the Task Force on March 23.  (a prior PelicanLandingBlog post dated April 12th provided the study group’s report … as well as the attachments to the report.)

Remember the Tennis Amenity belongs to the residents and it is important that the facility, the staff, and the financial transactions are all performing at a high level with appropriate accountability … as with all amenities in our beautiful community.

  1. A lot of effort went into these reports. Let’s see what kind of positive changes come out of this.

  2. There has never been any accountability by the PLCA Board to the residents because the information necessary to make such a determination has never been supplied by the Board which acts dictatorily.
